It is possible but would be waay more work than would be worth it. Wiring harnesses would need to be changed, tranny would need to be swapped, to name but a few of the many things needed.
Would be a whole lot cheaper and less of a headache to hold out for a GS3. All you would need to do is pop the hood
engine, rear and the trans ? or is the trans the same ?
Engine ecu has to be changed, (wiring harness for the rest should be the same). This shouldn't be that hard. The driveshaft will need to be changed (different length). The motor mounts need to be from the v-6 motor as well. If you have the trans already then that won't be a problem either. I think the internals of a 300 and 400 trans are different gearing ratios and clutches, I could be wrong on this though. I don't see the swap being that much different from that of a v-6 swap. I'm sure there are some other misc parts u would need just find someone who is familiar with the twin turbo swaps to do ur work. You could get to the rear gears later after the swap is done
wizky over on supra forums swapped in a 2jzgte into his gs400 along with a 6 speed trans. It's a little more work, but isn't impossible. I believe his car made well over 900rwhp as well.
Hey johnny..i did some research into this before i got my gs3.... that is why i didn't get a gs4 again and i got the gs3... its an easier swap for numerous reasons.
The gs4 can be done... its just going to cost you a hell of alot more money to do it...
plus if your still in the market for a gs3 ... PM me...
Why not just take the cash, and build the V8? Build the V8, perform the 6 speed swap, and add power adders as desired. I'm over simplifyuing it, yes, but the V8 is reaching a point where it would be more cost effective to build the motor, than to buy a whole different car to zip up.
I agree. It will be a money pit to do that swap. The V8 with the 6 speed will yield at least 15% better performance from the stock auto. Add a supercharger to the mix, and just wave to the Vette Z06 that you are side by side with
