Default Gs470

I have been thinking about this. I plan to get a GS400 or GS430 in the next 4-6 months. I was wondering if i get a GS400 and swap the bottom end to the Tundra 4.7 block with custom pistons and forged H Beam Rods. I want to run it in NA form and bring the compression ratio from 10.5: to 11:1. With good exhaust flow and if cams available in the future, this combo should bring me up to about 350 to 375 bhp. What do u guys think of this?

Default I think Its a great idea

Could a possible engine rebuild with stronger parts w/o the tundra bottom end do about the same thing? I think someone makes custom crank kits for the 4.0 or 4.3...but the 4.3 has lesser internals.

I don't know if the block and heads have the same dimensions, but it sure sounds like a cool idea to me.

I've also thought of the possibility of buying a high mile GS and put a Ford 4.6 or a Chevy V8 (like they do with FD RX7s)motor/trans/rear end in. Then you could make big hp cheap. I think it'd be a cool sleeper/drag car.

That would be very cool. Chuck b If u could somehow put a built-up ford 302 or 351 (possibly a stroked out version) with a supercharger and a tremec 6-spd trans with the supra 376 rear................OMG what a beast and for 1/2 the cost. But i i would still rather have oem- toyota lexus go fast parts.

It might be cheaper to do a 4.7 liter 2uzfe shorblock then swapping a Ford or Chevy crate motor. All the Toyota V8 shortblocks are the same. So its a bolt on. However, i think the cost would be greater if swap to domestic engines. The only problem would be an extra 82 lbs. However, if i can change the stock hood to CF hood that will save about 30 lbs.
