99 GS300....needs more power :)
Hey guys,
Btw...this is a great board, lots of info and many nice pics.
Little background. This is my first nice car 99 GS300....I will post some pics in a week.
It has about 125K miles on it and the power is fading. Car has served me very well and I want to keep it for 2 more years.
What can I do to make it much faster then what it is right now. Currently its all stock. What can I do under $1,000 or even maybe $2,000 to make this run much faster.
Thank You,
Eric

I hate to say this, but with the 2JZ GE engine, there's not that much you could do to increase hp !!
I may not be a tuner/mechanic, but based on my own observations and experiences, simple bolt ons would be the only ways to improve !! With all that mods, you're lookin at 200 wheel hp !!
That's about it !! But 200hp is better than stock right ??
Good luck to you

JK... I will post up the recent dyno very soon. I'm gettin re-built Getrac tranny so, should have 700 + no prob !!
Topic : When I had my GE engine, I had (1) SRT intake/ecu chip (2) TRD LSD (3) Blitz sur Spec with full 2 1/4 pipings *NA "bigger the better" concept does not apply (4) Greddy Fuel/air computer and (5) Crower cutom CAM for GE block. (6) JE polish pistons and rings. (7) HKS Cam Sprockets (8) HKS Twin plugs amp
If you wanna go GANGSTA with NA.... I would go with individual throttle body custom ceremic header and MOTEC ecu !!! DANG !!!!!

Honestly, with a GS300, unless you are ready to go FI, I think the bolt-ons are not worth the $. The best things you can try are the SRT intake and a better flowing exhaust. You may get a little feel out of that. There are not enough data on other parts to say one way or another. TCs are OK but with the "lower" HP/TQ numbers of the car, you are not getting back a lot (the GS4s).
For more noticeable power, I think you only have 2 choices if you wnat to keep a GS:
1. FI
2. Sell the GS300 and buy a GS4x0
I have a GS300 too and am resigned to do one of these choices in the future.
