Default changed oil in LSD u might want to do it too!

holy crap i wish i took pix of how nasty the drain bolt was, the bolt had sludge build up.

the reason i decided to do a change was because i thought i felt some slippage. the drain bolt was on soo tight i had to extend the allen wrench just to get enough leverage.

Price:
i bought 2qts of royal purple 75w90 after tax was like 16bucks.
i didnt have a 10mm allen wrench, thats a big wrench. price 5bucks
lastly was the extension hose to fill up the LSD cost me 3bucks

the whole job only cost me rougly 25 bucks

the only problem i had was filling up the rear diff. i tried squeezing the first qt in and it was hell, after i screwed on the secondt qt i saw how the hose and the bottle worked and just found away to let elevation play its toll. find away to have the bottle higher than the rear diff and let it drip in. it might take longer but the hassle is so much less.

after i shower and get dress for work i'll take a quick spin and write about how the drive was.

Default Questions....

I've not heard of a GS3 with an LSD before. What type do you have? Or were you just refering to your differential? How many miles since your last fluid change?

I'm almost 90% sure he doesnt have LSD, cause he wouldve bragged to me about it when he took me for a spin, and i dont really see a point to having it with a 300.

I have changed rear diff. fluid on many different cars. I can appreciate how tough it is to get the very thick oil into the diff. (especially if the weather is cool). So what we always do is we put our bottle of differential fluid in very hot water for 10 minutes or so. It makes it just runny enough to get it to flow ALOT easier. Just a tip....
