Has anyone had to replace their starter on a 99 GS400? IF so how much did the dealer charge for the part and to install the new starter. Also my other big quetion is how much is involved with replacing the old starter with a new starter? I was thinking about doing it myself or finding like privately own garage to replace the starter. Please can i get help on this problem.


I need guidance please the dealer in MD wanted $1300 fix the starter.

 

Chinton's manual call for 4.1 hrs to replace starter on GS400. You have to remove the intake out and lower the transmission so you can get to the starter bolts.

That info is very helpfully can i lower the tranny by myself. It sounds like a 2 person job. I guess that's why the dealer wants so much to fix it...
