Default To Supercharged GS Owners...

what exhaust setup are you guys running? Any comments as far as likes/dislikes...If you're not quite satisfied with what you have now, what would you go with?

my exhaust story...

RMM installed my S/C. I took the car home with the stock exhaust. It was amazingly quiet - barely could hear the S/C, but very little power increase. I went back to RMM for a pulley change (I started with their original pulley 3.6 - went down to the 3.33) and had their exhaust put on (mufflers only). I then dropped pulleys once more to 3.12. The car was running great - I ran my best 1/4 of 13.3 @ 102. Someone then told me I should have the exhaust system redone - keep the RMM mufflers, but put on high flow cats and run 2 1/2" pipes all the way back (no resonators). So I did this. I lost 3 tenths in the quarter. The car felt slower, like I lost boost. Turned out these guys did a bad job on the exhaust installation. I ended up taking the car to another shop in the west San Fernando Valley. They had the exhaust redone. So I've still got RMM's mufflers, but 2 1/2" pipes running back from the cats (hi-flow). Before these guys re-did the piping, my boost would immediately jump to 5-5.5 lbs. Now it builds up as I accelerate (maxes at 6.5). I plan to change pulley's one more time along with a high-flow fuel pump and larger injectors.

My set up is pretty loud and I don't really know if I gained much doing it. I think if I did it all over again, I would have stuck with the stock piping and kept the more free flowing mufflers. I have not seen any other members cars with the S/C setup.

Alfredo,

I've got a set of Borla stainless exhaust on mine (have had it on pre-SC) since 1999 with no problems or droning. Love the sound. Purely for aesthetics I put a newer set of Borla tips on after I added the L-sportline rear bumper to my car.

I believe TTurbopimp had Greddy Evo on his GS when it was supercharged before he sold the supercharger to me. When I rode in his car, it was noticibly louder than my Borla.

BlackDiamond (Eric) down in GA has Carson Tuned (Kimura(sp?) exhaust, but I've only seen pictures / haven't heard it.

Jaime was running stock exhaust, but think he was thinking of changing it if he hasn't already.

AG,
As Dave mentioned I have the Carson Tuned exhaust, and I'm quite satisfied with it. No droning what-so-ever, and not particularly loud inside the cabin but sounds mean outside! The local Atlanta Club Lexus / SELOC chapter will be meeting on the 11th of July. Please feel free to drop buy and listen to my exhaust. Here's a link to the discussion on SELOC;

I'm running a Borla exhaust and it sounds great, I almost wish it was a bit louder and deeper.
