Default exhaust drone, rumble.

watup yall, i just installed my new exhaust yesterday and boy i hate the drone its putting out... its a 3inch -5inch -dual 3inch to a magnaflow.. could the 5inch piece (5 foot of piping) be causing the drone?? any ideas? its on a 1jzgte sc300 stock down pipe. the gloves are marking the 5 inch piece. if i replace the 5inch with a 3 inch fix the rumble/drone. FYI: i bought the exhaust like this. previous owner setup was for over 1000 hp . supposedly the exhaust was flow tested and everything.

At the end of the day its a 3inch exhaust cause the exhaust leaves the turbo in a 3 inch.

My suggestion would be to put in a resonator and the 5" would definitely cause some drowning.

My personal car in Sig has a true 4" from front to back and I had significant droning, I installed a 4" resonator and it put the drown more into a deep hum.

Hope this helps.

thanks man. i figured that if i changed it to a 3 it would get better. but i guess a resonator will do.. and the drone is more of a rumble like you mentioned.. thanks for the input.

You could add a single in, dual 3 inch out muffler where your y-pipe is and that would knock it out.

I'm thinking about swapping my flow masters for a dual gte exhAust here a picture. It's off a 2012 mustang gt. (Let's not even get into why a different car exhAust topic lol) looks good, the tips are rolled chrome and they are long so it will give me the look I was looking efor to begin with. But will it lower that rumble. I believe it will a little bit.

Add side branch resonator, no restriction, no power loss, same loudness, minus drone. Google this and you should be able to find many helpful sites. I got this done to my system for $130.

A little update on my car.. i sold the magnaflows and bought the 2011 mustang GT exhaust . and it sounds like high flow stock exhaust. i will do a sound clip and when i get a chance today. pics here are some pics..
it was a good fit. cost me 100 to get them adapted. which wasn't too bad.

PS: iam so happy with the sound.. its not loud at all. almost like stock...
