Default :::QUICK, NEED HELP w/ LSD:::

Hey, I was in the market for the purchase of a 3.76 LSD rear end for my GS400. I found one off of a Supra '97 TT, and it is the entire rear, however I wanted to see if anyone knows whether or not this will fit, and if this is the part that I want?

I don't know the answer, but I suspect the person that does will ask you to post the part numbers stamped on it.

I've also read that you can't tell if it is a true LSD pumpkin unless you crack it open and look at the gears.

Default :::need Help With An Lsd::::

I am looking to purchase a 3.76 Rear end w/ LSD from a '97 Supra TT, but I am not sure if this will fit properly on my GS400. I am told by the seller that this is not a TORSEN LSD? What LSD is it?

Here are images...

Do you know for a fact if it is an LSD diff at all? Lots of supras came with those gears WITHOUT LSD - just an open diff.

PS, I merged your two threads... you only need one.

The pumpkin will fit as a direct replacement. It is the same as the RMM stuff. The only thing, like DaveGS4 mentioned, is that you gotta find out if it has an LSD. If the mechanic or whoever you are buying it from says it doesn't have the Torsen LSD then odds are that this is and open differential. The gearing is kick a## but you will likely just spin one wheel on hard launches.

I do know it's off an automatic Supra TT, does this mean it's not with an LSD?

Chris, the problem is I think the auto Supra TTs could come both with and without a LSD.

from what has been posted on previous posts about this matter, a majority of the rearends from 97-98 are 3.76 but are not lsd..here is a web page that can explain more in depth.Just click on RMM/SUPRA TT for more info..
