Default Apex Exhaust Too Loud, Help?

Can anyone help me with this one.

I have the Apexi World Sport Exhaust with the 100mm Tip. Its louder than i wanted so im trying to get a silencer that fits it. Apexi only makes 90 & 115mm silencers to fit their 90 & 115mm tips. Unfortunately they don't make a silencer for the 100mm tip. Does anyone know if i can modify the 115mm tip to fit, or maybe i can buy a 100mm tip from another company. Does anyone know if another company's silencer would fit.

Thank you for reading my help message.

Thanks Thomas

Now, I am assuming its too loud on the inside of the car, so if thats the case, some people dynamatted the bottom portion of the trunk and underneath the seats to reduce the noise level with good success. I dunno if another silencer would fit on your exhaust.

So he can make the car faster and outrun the sound? You probably meant a 3.76 LSD, which will simply move the sound [drone] out of the common cruising RPM.

umm.... i thought with the tq converter the rpm is a big higher so the noise is less? i have no idea since i don't have it yet, but bitkahuna told me the dynamat stuff didn't really help THAT much, and the tq converter helped more?

When I purchased my GS, it had dynomat extreme. The Greddy EVO exaust is loud. With the windows up and the music slightly playing, I barely notice I have an aftermarket exaust.

An aftermarket torque converter increases the stall speed. The 3.76 LSD changes the RPM for a particular speed -- a higher RPM for any given mph.

Do you think an aftermarket TQ will hurt the NA engine in the long run? I had quite a few mechanics tell me that an aftermarket TQ is really not good for the engine and yes it will provide better off-the-line acceleration but its not worth it in the long run.. This pretty much is the only reason why I never got it. I remember another CL member Gsintensive's car got messed up because of the TQ?

I have the 3.76 Supra LSD and 2800 stall TQ. Both made a HUGE difference in off the line acceleration. The only thing is.... I bounce off the rev limiter for 1-2 second(s) on WOT from 1st the 2nd gear.

Mechanically I haven't had any problems at all. Only problem is laying down 2 thick strips of rubber all the way across intersections
The other day I had a yellow 2003 corvette with his top down behind me. My buddy was with me and told me to light em up. I dropped the hammer and within 3 seconds the whole intersection was a great big cloud of thick white smoke. I took off and looked behind me and the guy in the vet was chocking and coughing as he slowly drove through. Anyway, my buddy and I had a pretty big laugh after he caught up to me and gave me the finger!!

Sorry, got off topic....

Thomas88, I have the Apexi World Sport exhaust like you but I also had an X-pipe installed in the place of my third cat/resonator (whatever it is).
Let me tell ya, my car is LOUD AS ALL HELL! That's an understatement! When I stomp on the gas it sounds like a full drag car. Way louder then my buddies built Mustang. I'm not exaggerating. I have people asking me what the hell I have in that thing!

What I'm going to do is have 2 maybe even 4 large RESONATORS installed by the same guy that did my X-pipe. Should quite it down a lot. I suggest you do the same if you can't find something that works with your tips. I can't do anything with my tips anyways because I had custom tips installed.

I don't think the TC will hurt the engine in the short or long term. It will add additional stress to the tranny and drive train. But you can do far more damage to your car brake torqueing.

GSIntensive mentioned some tranny problems in a thread a while back. Can't remember who assigned the blame to the TC [GSIntensive or the mechanic]. It's certainly possible. But if the TC was properly intalled and the car well maintained, your chances of failure are not much higher than with the stock TC.
