2008 Lexus is350 base rwd. Just bought the car when I do a 3/4 throttle or full throttle pull the cabin starts smelling nasty especially in the high rpm’s. Smell of rotten eggs and chemicals is how I can describe it. Drove the car 200 miles already seems to run fine besides that. no lights trans shifts a little hard

 

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak along with a bad cat.

 

oh thank god thought it was burning oil. Would it be fine to run the car like this for a little as I intend to go catlsss and get an after market exhaust?

 

You gotta check the rear flaps in the trunk, theyre most likely gone. I just got my IS250 in january and had the exhaust smell coming into my cabin at 3700 rpm+. Changed both sides out and nothing ever since. Got both sides for like $28 on ebay

 

 

I had the same issue with my 07 when I boost it up a hill or about to get into the highway.
apparently it’s a know issue. So the fix was a new/upgraded exhaust I put an Nvidia system on mine and the smell is no more! Definitely worth doing as I hated the smell especially when passengers are in the car with me

 

did you replace the mid pipe section as well?
