Default number 14

Yeah baby
I can’t wait to get those headers on my car. I am a fairly new to modding my GS but I am very excited.
Things I have added are the SRT intake and engine ECU, just got the l-tuned springs and struts. I have TRD 18inch rims, a L-tuned Suspension Member Brace, TRD Strut Tower Brace, and drilled/slotted brembo brakes. I upgraded the stereo with 6' JL separates upfront and 6' combo in the back, infinity free air 10' sub all run of a 600 watt 5 way JL amp.
Future mods will be a Kenwood flush mount 7.5 inch dvd/nav system. Dragon TC and 3.76 LSD.

Please let me know what exhaust system would work with these headers.

John you know you rule, let all the skeptics cry over not making the cut.

Thumbs up Order #16 !!!

Finally, we are almost there! Should have them in a few weeks or so. I was told they may increase the initial run to 30 sets since the orders are coming in so fast!
They seemed pleased that people who had committed to these are following through so quickly-kudos to the CL brethren!

i really wanna buy but i have a GS430. are any other 430 owners already paid? i dont wanna be the only 430 guy left with a useless mod - at least if another 430 owner takes the plunge i will have somebody to mourn with.

has there been any progress yet that would verify that it will even work on a 430?

Hey man,

If it doesn't work, you shouldn't have too many problems selling them to someone on here - or else you could probably make a killing on ebay. Look at the superchargers for the GS - people are paying more for them now than when they first came out!

I don't have the list of current orders but Hollywood above is a G430. There are nine GS430s on the list.

Honestly, with these making noticeable power at only 3000rpm we should see a bunch of people get them. In fact the shop that installed gawd's set has a custom set of shorty headers on an SC430 (same engine as GS430 and LS430) and it has noticeable power increase. As I said before the 430 is a bigger engine with less efficient manifolds... it should respond better than the 400 cars.

One other point, if for some reason you did not install your set, certainly you could sell them for near breakeven or maybe a profit depending on supply and demand.

No they are not. To my knowledge all of the recent buyers were able to pick up the kits at a significant discount from RMM's original pricing. Someone who paid more can feel free to chime in but I don't remember anyone paying the $6500.00 for a used kit anytime recently.

John, are you still considering this or is the header shop going to build these? I know things have changed for you since this post, but just wondering where we were on this? I want to be sure to optimize every aspect of the exhaust system to maximize the benefits. Thanks!

Is this a header specific post?

Header resale value is unknown. Worst case scenario I would guess you could dump them for a $300 loss in under an hour. For a brand new set with demand I would think full price is very resonable. So, worst case situation we are talking about a $300 gamble. Cheap stuff really.

Heck, Cin would probably jump on a set for $300

Well, I donated my 2.25 into 2.50 Y pipe and 3 flanges to gawd who had a small shop piece a 2.25 Y together. I was leaving town and didn't have time to make any tests but he felt it lost power. On the dyno it was within 1hp of the stock Y. I don' think it had sufficient pipe length after the merge collector to work properly. At this time gawd is running the stock Y and feeling gains. He intends to dyno both Y pipes with the headers.

Based on the above results I am engineering a new Y pipe design. It won't be ready for a while but is REAL easy to install and since the stock pipe is making power that is not an immediate problem.

I will of course keep the board informed.

OK, thanks for the reply John. I will just go with the stock Y pipe for now then. Still need to resolve the question I have about the single cat (or resonator?) after the Y-pipe. Never got around to looking into that further...
I would be interested in seeing your new design when you get to it!

So what is the manufacturing time, if I ordered this week when would I have the actual set of headers. The reason I ask is that my engine is pulled now and will be going back in sometime around august 8th. I am wondering if I would see them before then so I could get them installed before the engine went back in?

Default hopefully

hope you can get em morris, Heck I have not had time to order them today, and I am almost out of the picture for the first order. People are fast today. This is going to be nice, JBrady, do you think it would be smart to kinda run tests on the certain types of x, H or y pipes?? A friend could do this prob free of charge for me.
