Overheating at idle... Fan clutch?
My car begins to overheat when idling and the temp is above 85 with little wind. It overheats faster with the AC on. When its cool out it doesn't overheat. When I start moving again, especially fast it cools right back to normal. Highway speeds, 100 outside, AC on, no overheating.
At idle, the fan moves but not real fast and i can stop it but simply sticking my finger down to stop it. When i take my finger off it slowly starts spinning again.
From what i've read, it sounds like a fan clutch.
How difficult is this to change...thoughts? Im not interested in putting in am electric fan, etc.

It's not so difficult, remove the top part of the fan shroud: 2 10 mm bolts on the top left/top right sides of it, then from underneath the car there should be 2 more 10 mm bolts on either side. The bottom half circle piece of the shroud has to come off via 2 clips, once you've done all that then you can lift up the shroud and put it aside.
The fan is attached to the clutch via 4 or 6 10mm bolts i forget how many exactly. Hold the fan steady while you loosen those bolts otherwise you'll just spin the fan. The clutch itself also has 4-6 10mm bolts that attach it to the waterpump pulley. You can choose to remove it with the fan attached and then remove the fan while its all off the car, but you might have more room to remove the clutch once the fan is out of the way from inside the car.
