Default first problem with the sc :/

i was on my way to work and it sounded like my cooling fan was blowing extra hard the higher my rpm's got. so i got out, opened my hood and opened up the throttle and its deffinatly my fan. so now when i drive its sounds like a ups truck. does anyone know what would cause your fan to run high with the rpm's?

when your car gets hotter it spins faster if its staying like that the whole time it could be the temp sensor or it could be the fan clutch...

is it constant or intermittent? if its constant then your fan clutch is shot.

no the fan runs normal when the rpm's are low, or when i have the clutch in, but once the rpm's get to 2,500 or 3,000 it starts running really high. i talked to one of my buddies and he thinks its the fan clutch too. it is located by the fan belt?

Understand first how fun viscous fluid "clutch" works.

Sounds like the fan clutch as others have said. Try this. With your engine off, try spinning the fan by hand. The fan and metal part in the center should spin while the center section attached to the water pump stays still. There should be some resistance, but enough play so you can spin the fan by hand.

alright i tried to spin it and there was definatly some resistance. it will barely move unless i realy force it to spin. is that a sign thats its the fan clutch?

You should feel a bit of resistance, but you shouldn't have to force it. It should feel like youre trying to spin it under water.

no its not like that at all, it moves like 3 inches at a time, like its slipping, then once i turn it so much it wont move at all.
