My fan is loud
Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows about this or has an idea as to what may be causing this but when i rev my engine it seems like the fan gets louder, maybe the fan clutch is always on? At idle it sounds ok but once i rev the fan gets louder. Any help on this is appreciated

When the car is shut off, spin the fan by hand. A clutch in good shape will either spin freely or semi freely, and will definitely feel smooth. I had the same issue a while back. I replaced the broken part with the 2JZ-GTE fan clutch from DriftMotion (not sure if you have a 300 or 400). Very easy job and fixed the issue.
Even with a new fan clutch, the fan will still be loud when the vehicle is hot- that just means it's working. It can sometimes still be a little loud at idle but it quickly goes away. There are several threads on here regarding fan clutches. GL!

Highly recommend just replacing with a new Aisin OEM-spec fan clutch... if it is indeed bad. With the engine shut off, if the fan is difficult or anything but smooth to spin freely when you push it with your hand when the engine then it's due for a replacement. It's the same exact fan clutch for GE and GTE engines. Beware of tightening the actual fan blade bolts down to the correct *inch-lbs* (NOT ft-lbs) spec when reinstalling. Harbor Freight sells an inexpensive inch-lb torque wrench which can be used for this.
And you'll need a specific extension from Snap-On to get to the water pump pulley bolts with your torque wrench (see link below).

As an alternative, the 2001-2005 IS300 electric fan assembly is the best reliable non-mechanical fan alternative for the SC but the mechanical fan still flows the most air.
