annoying electrical problem..
hey guys. Having alittle trouble with my soarer and hoping you guys can help.
Its been having troubles holding a charge for the past few months, but it has gotten incredibly worse as i begun to drive it more as summer has finally came in Alberta. But now its really bad. I can boost the car to start it, but unless i remain on the gas the car will die out. Even if im driving and let off the gas it will now die out. Im starting to believe it is the alternator. What do you guys think? any input is appreciated.
Levi.

Whats the volts putting on while running on the battery? Battery light on?
Some say to disconnect the battery while it is running, this will ensure the alternator is charging and working correctly. I have also heard not to do this, due to ruining a good ECU.

Thanks for the reply.
Well the battery light is not on at any point. Like i said the car does die out if you let off the gas at any point however. But yesterday we hooked up a battery charger to the positive and negative cables and cut the battery out of the equation, and the car still died out.
On a side note, doing that can damage your ECU? is there any way to tell if i messed it up? thanks guys.

If you have total loss of electrical power after you disconect the battery when its running, its goint to be your altenator. Try to find an auto parts store that can test it, your going to have to take it out tho.

ill give that a try... the thing that is scaring me the most is me having to stay on the gas to keep it running. Its never had a problem like this before, but i did know the alternator/battery was going. is it possible to a super dead battery/alternator to be causing this? or do i have bigger problems?
