So today my battery light decided to come on. It only comes on when the car is at a stop and I'm not giving it gas. But when i throttle it the light goes off? What may be my problem?

It is a 97sc400 1uz. Original alternator and belt car had 140k

I would start with the battery first since its the easist to access. Check battery voltage with a DVOM-volt meter. If the battery checks out good your alternator is going bad, time to replace it.

If you dont have one get your battery tested at your local autoparts store.
