So my new SC300 1995 w58 manual I just purchased last week (180k) miles has developed a weird habit while shifting 1st to 2nd and only in that shift movement. When going from 1st to second feels like it grinds or binds. I'm not entirely sure as its not very loud. You can hear it and you can feel a binding but its not super loud. Also when I shift from first to neutral then to 2nd and not directly in it doesn't have any problems. I'm not double clutching however just holding down the clutch the entire time and gently shifting from 1st into the N on the patter and into 2nd. Am I looking at a full rebuild? R154 time? Or simple fix? I just had the trans fluid flushed today hoping that would solve it and didn't help.

Im no transmission expert, but coming from just finishing up rebuilding my r154, it sounds like a bad synchro. Which for the w58, there is little support, not even a rebuild kit that im aware of.
