92 SC400 Loss Of Power & Unidentified Leak *PIC*
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone can help me pinpoint the problem that happened to my car recently.
The car drives just fine and idles fine. I had the spark plugs, rotors, caps, wires, cat replaced not too long ago. I also had the timing fixed.
Lately I noticed that the car is not as powerful as it's used to be. It throws a check engine light every now and then but then it disappears after a couple minutes. The engine also squeeks a little on a certain rpm. The most depressing part is the intermittent "early shifts".
I also noticed that there's this white residue stuff on the engine:
I'm not sure if this residue has anything to do with the loss of power.
I have checked for vacuum leaks but I couldn't find any. All hoses & connections are tightly secured, fluid level is normal, everything looks fine.
Any ideas? Thanks for the input.

As far as power losses, have you been able to check your CEL and see if any history codes are stored? could be a good place to start as something might be holding you back.
For the residue, that looks like one of the coolant hoses going to your IAC. It could cause problems as the coolant might leak into the spark plug valley and seep into a cylinder or two. A new hose and coolant bleed should fix that.
