transmission problem
Well I was driving today and I noticed that my car wouldn't shift after 2nd gear. every time i accelerate a little bit it would just rev not passing 40mph. there is also a weird whirring sound also. could my transmission be shot or what? Somebody please help me with this issue. thanks cl.

I hear the noise when the car is moving. Well when I start driving the car from a stop it goes but it sometimes has a hard time going into second but it gets there. then after second it won't shift at all it just revs when i press the gas. it seems like its slipping when it starts going from a stop.

Could be a lot of things honestly. Pull the tyranny dipstick...the color should be reddish, possibly quite dark if its old. Next smell it. If it smell burnt the clutches may have burnt up. If not is lean towards a sensor
