Default sc400 tranny(HELP)

Whats up guys, I'm new to the forum and new to lexus so bear with me please. I bought a 92 sc400 a few weeks ago and I love this thing but I've been a mustang guy my whole driving life and dont know much about these cars. The other day I noticed a deep whine coming from the tranny and today I was going down the freeway and all of a sudden the tranny gave up, like I put it in neutral. After i stopped the car and went to get a trailer I tried to move it and it worked for about a mile and did it again. Any input is welcomed and I did try and search but came up with nothing like this. I will post up pics of the ride as soon as i can.If this post is in the wrong section I apologize and please move if necessary.

Default Same issue

I had the very same problem with my 92 SC400 that i posted a few months ago & got no help from our fourm buddies...I drained my tranny put a new filter & new fluid & was back on the road.

Same here bro,
my 92 did the same thing, but it was because the trans was burning oil.Later when my car cooled a bit, it ran fine. I took it to a shop to sort the problem. Not only was it burning oil,but the seal on the torque converter also gave up and leaked out. My advice would be to check your oil levels and/or rebuild the tranny as a precaution if shes your DD.

Nothing is leaking from what I can see but it is over full. Im gonna drain it and change the filter so we will see where that gets me. Thanks for the input fellas.

Drained the fluid, changed the filter and made it home with no issue's so far, I hope she holds together but so far so good. O ya, the filter was pretty much clogged and there was about 5 mill of sludge in the pan, probly not helping.

She still running strong? Have you checked the fluid recently?
