SC300 Removing Cats: Gas smell, HP Increase, Sound Change?
So I hear some rattling from my cats in my 96 5 speed SC300.
My car is stock with a K&N filter only.
I'm considering buying a pipe to get rid of all of the cats.
Does anyone know where I can get this piece?
Will there be a bad gas smell without the cats?
Will the exhaust get significantly louder?
Will I gain any noticeable hp?
Should I also replace the manifolds with headers while doing this?
Thank you if you have any links that would be appreciated. I searched but it was taking forever and I didn't find all of these answers.

Don't do it, your car is OBD2 and if you gut/remove the cat it will throw a check engine light. Its probably a heat shield rattling. You wont notice any HP increase as it will be MINIMAL at best on an N/A car, it will get louder though (which isn't a good thing)

Also, try shaking the cats to see which one is making the noise and just replace it alone...
I remember one of my first cars was a '93 mazda 626 that had a rattling cat and got it replaced with a new one and the car gained some lost HP... Actually, now that I think of it, I dont know if it was replaced with a new cat or the guy just put a straight pipe to delete it!! either way, a clogged/rattly cat is taking away from your hp..
