Default Resonators

Hey guys ..sorry im very new to this but what would happen if i removed my resonators? Would I still pass smog in Cali?

You would still pass, because the resonators are after the catalytic converters.

Thanks will removing them give my car more power or make the stock exhaust sound louder?

no power,just slightly louder thats all. Maybe move the powerband a bit higher,but i'm not sure if our resonators are restrictive or free flowers.

if i remove my cats and straight pipe it like im planning...will i pass in texas? what about power gains there? it'll obviously be louder...lemmie add im also installing headers when straight piping it, incase that helps you answer the question. thank you!

i deleted my resonators and mufflers recently. it's significantly louder but no droning during freeway driving. i noticed a loss of low end power but a slight gain in high end.

if you are removing cats then you will not pass emissions for two reasons"

1. Check engine light for the missing cats that the downstream O2 sensor cannot detect

2. Visual inspection will show the missing cat.

Headers won't help with emissions either. You might see a gain in power overall, don't know exact numbers.
