Question A little help on a vpc for my boosted sc3

my air fuel is all jacked up and I told the guy I bought it from and he tells me that it could be the vpc, its wired but not there he says, he tells me to also check the injectors. I know it has an e-manage that needs to be tuned but I want to cover everything before I go waste my time and cant get it tuned. I guess my question is this.. on my 1jz where would a vpc be and do i need it?
