Exclamation Convert to Manual Trans?

97 SC300 - is it possible to convert from automatic to manual trans?

If so, how about a rough idea of cost and time?

Thanks,
Harpo

I did search. What I found was many threads asking the question, much speculation, and no agreement whatsoever. Here's the most popular answers:

"Buy a 5 speed car."
"Search before you ask."

Looks like the short answer is actually "I don't know".

Thanks so much,
Harpo

2000-2500 depending on what transmission you use and misc parts. give driftmotion a call, they can probably provide every single part you need.

Im going to make a thread about this subject that should get sticky'd.

Also, If youre not going to help someone then keep quiet.
Youre not getting "cool" points for saying "search".

To the OP. There are infact tons of threads about this. I know because I searched. heres what came up when I put "manual swap" in thea search function. 410 hits!! Use it. it works. Comb through everyting and try to ignore those threads that look like this thread.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=manual+swap
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=350844&highlight=manual+swap

Here are just a few. I'll assume that when you say "cost" you mean the cost of parts, and not labor.

Thanks much, Lemmie. The first thread you mention is great, and should be stickied:
