Tune-up and slave cyl for $1k?
I just brought my SC 300 to the shop Friday, and had the following things done:
- Clutch's Slave Cylinder replaced
- New Spark Plug Wires (STI)
- Complete tune-up (with Denso Double Platinum spark plugs)
- Fuel Filter replaced
I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of my (or your) imagination, but I was thinking this should cost less than $940. The mechanic I've been using for years with my Integra, but I've always researched the parts/labor and found him fairly reasonable--sometimes more than reasonable. Why do I feel like this is too much?

It's a lexus not an integra, so most everything for our cars are going to be more expensive. Ask your mechanic... he should have no problem answering your questions if you go to him all the time.

wow $940 is very high but yes, it's not an integra. what did the "tune up" consist of other than replacing plugs, wires, fuel filter, and slave cylinder? parts should have been pretty inexpensive.
