Just a shared cost on getting new spark plugs / wires
I have a 1991 LS 400 with 164K on it and the Original spark plugs and Original wires from 21 years ago...
I replaced them today due to a slight miss on the highway at high speeds and flat roads. felt like a milisecond hesitation and random intervals..
My wires looked like crap and the plugs too...
I got new iridium plugs and wires put in and installed for $510 total. The car does run much much better now with clean new plugs and my MPG picked up a bit.
I think the $280 I was charged for labor was ridiculous considering it only took them 100 minutes to do from start to complete.....I timed.
Out of all the things I have had done to the car though..the new plugs and wires made the biggest difference for investment to performance ratio..
just sharing.

next is my tie rods

either use www.lexls.com and do it yourself or find a shop that isn't giving you ridiculous labor numbers. the DEALERSHIP would charge you less to do it at that rate.

I figured as much..I thought I had looked on LexLS for a guide but did not see one. I guess I was wrong! I think I am afraid to get my hands dirty on this thing and screw it up...I might as well try though considering how much labor is costing me..all the shops here are between 65 and 85 $ an hour
I know I will try to do the outer tie rods myself. So I will need your all help for that. But I will try it myself none the less. Thanks

PureDrifter. I may be bad with the search but cannot turn up any threads on a How -to of replacing the tie rods. You seem to be a master at this. Can you help?
