Default Check Engine Light On After Flooring It

Just the other day while merging onto a highway onramp, I was behind a slow *** car. I lost patience and mashed the pedal. Seconds later after passing him, my check engine light came on. It has been on for a couple of days now. Anyone know what this means? Thanks.

Most of us here probably don't know, try Autozone and get a free diagnostics.

My engine light went off because my throttle position sensor was bad. Maybe related to your problem because you floored it?

Cool, I didn't realize that was free. Freebees FTW!

Is the sensor easily accessible?

Pull the codes (covered elsewhere...search) or you can just reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery, drive for day or two and see if the CEL comes back. Go from there.
