So my fuel filter fitting from tank to filter is rusted on. I spent all day banging it with a hammer, PB blasting it, and trying to get it off with my 14mm. after repeated use, the 14mm wound up rounding the bolt. awesome. vice grips did even worse. I cannot get this bolt off!
What should I do? I cant heat it with a torch
So what do I do?
Continue to try and get this filter off?
Try and find new hard lines that are not all rusted to ****?
Get a "performance" filter and SS lines?
The dreaded sc fuel filter fittings, been there, done that, I was able to force mine with vicegrips, I suppose the real fix would be to price a new steel line to the tank from Lex.
yes yes yes yes! you should have been using a line wrench to get it off with out rounding out the filter. i had a hard time but thankfully i have a set in my tool box at work.
i have been. They are called flare wrenches. i bought a set for my camry's fuel filter. THAT tool rounded my 14mm bolt on the fuel line. i wasnt lieing when i said its stuck lol
