New SC Owner & CEL Problem
Hello guys,
I am a new 97 SC300 5-speed owner, bought mine from a CL member a month ago. I love the car and with all the paperwork done, starting to ride it around town. Well, today I got the Check Engine Light. So I got it checked out in AutoZone and ...
Error Code PO135 (replace O2 sensors, O2 sensor 1 in bank 1)
The guy told me that it could have something to do with the weather change. I got the car from Texas and I live in Indiana where it is kind of chilly right now. He said the the car has to get acclomated to the weather change.
Does this sound right? How long does this take so I know if it is the weather change or a faulty sensor? Could I do the replacement myself (knowledge limited to changing oil and car speakers)?
The guy also said that there are 4 of these sensors and that I would have to replace all 4 of them. Does this sound right? What are my options?
Thanks for this great forum guys

Do you have ne idea how long since the O2 sensors were last replaced or changed? This is probably one of the most common cause of CEL. Its fairly easy to change the sensors, it a simple unscrew, remove and replace.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions. koolaidman I might take you up on that offer. I live in Indianapolis btw. I will drive it through another tank of gas and see what happens.
Where and which o2 sensors should I get. The guy in AutoZone had them range from $73-$240 each. How much do you think it will cost me to get them changed at the dealer? Or is this something I can intrust to a non-lexus mechanic?
