I'm a bit confused. If the DS tail section was too short, how did it bolt up to the center bearing? If it bolted to the center bearing, then why didn't the splines fit properly? Also, I'd at least tell Lance it snapped. There's no reason for it to give for what you paid. Plus, he's done enough of them to know how much it should be lengthened.
FWIW, I took another 2-piece to a local DS shop, and they're lengthening it for less than half of what Lance charges. Plus, they actually balance both sections as a single unit. The Toyomoto piece came back unbalanced.
Oh... one more thing. The one piece is *identical* to what PHR sold me a while back.

Hey Scott,
The tail shaft bolted up properly to the center bearing just fine, so I'm assuming that section was accurately lengthened. From the weld, it looked like about a 1/2" was added. Remember when we talked about how the spline only entered the front half shaft a bit more than half an inch? Well, that is where the break occured. It basically just spun the splines right off, due to the fact it only had about 3/4 of an inch to bite on.
I'm not clear if the front portion of the drive shaft should have been lengthened as well, was yours? The rear section fit just fine, however it looked as though the front section needed more length.
As for reaching out to lance, I'll definitely do that, I don't expect too much, as he's so difficult to reach. I'll see what he can do.
So far this drive shaft feels smooth as butter on the street and highway, no vibration. I think I remember you saying that PHR shaft had some vibration issues?
