Default Turbo 1UZ Dyno result, 389 HP, 509 trq. 12.4 PSI. Wow

Lextreme just ran his car on the dyno and check out the numbers......

Here is the dyno result from DynoPack 3000. The result is pretty interesting and lots of tunings required. I ran extremely rich. An average AFR was 10.4 from boost to redline. I have the complete data sheet. Therefore, I can slowly tune my car cell by cell. Here are the corrected hp with 12.42 psi. With more fine tuning, this car can be in the mid 400 rwhp with the given pressure.

I was little disappointed with the results. My Tial 40mm spring was 14.7 psi, but at dyno, it only 12.42 psi. Now I need to get an electronic boost controller. Secondly, I was hoping the hp would be higher, but only high 300s. Fine tuning is a must. I have 6 pages of AFR with psi and other data so I can preciously correct every cell.

As you can see, because my car was running so rich. It bogged using the lower rpm and the dyno tech was slowly increase rpm. That is why u see the boost comes on very late. With proper tuning, the boost will come on very fast. Secondly with an EBC, full boost will be much quicker to reach. From some of my friends with FI 1UZ stating with leaning out I would gain about 40-50 rwhp. I cant wait until that day.

Dyno Condition:
Date: 04-26-2005
Gear: 4th
Wheel Diameter: 614.7mm
Drive Ratio: 3.47
Tran C Factor: 1.2
Car Wts: 4200 lbs

Dyno Results:
Max Torque: 509.4
Max HP: 389.4
Max psi: 12.42 psi
Comments: Good Run, Extreme Rich

Note: Yellow was the second run and Green was the three run. We aborted the first run.

The internals of the engine are stock and there is still much tuning to do. Imagine this kinda V8 power in an SC!

you REALLY need to fix the torque problem up top man... look at 4000rpms and see your torque just DIE... even the stock cars don't do that...

389whp is nice, but you made 509ft-lbs of torque... you SHOULD have at least matched that up top with over 450-460whp...
are you losing boost? did it peak at 14.7psi like you wanted but then drop off to 12.42? that would make up some of the difference, and the rest as you said would be tuning...

i'd gun for a 12:1 ratio across the board and increase the boost a little bit more... say 17psi?

good job tho man, you're the only one i know of on the board not paying $15k to some shop to do the work for them but still making good power numbers...

keep us posted! i only glanced at the site, but can you give us more info on your setup? its a single obviously... what did you do for a manifold and what turbo is it?

The chart says flywheel torque and horsepower, is that correct?

389 at the fly? That only estimates to around 311 to the wheels. Strange. Get that thing tuned

David is working on tuning his LS and hes going to get an electromic boost controller so that will help. Hes going to keep it around 1 bar i think. As for the manifold, he made it him self. I personaly have a second manifold that he made for me that i was going to use on my LS before it was totaled. I am now selling my system (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=160147). Too bad my setup wont fit right into an SC, Hes also using a Master Power turbo, Compressor .70 A/R with Turbonetics .68 A/R Turbine Rated 840 bhp. You can sell the entire build here ---> http://www.lextreme.com/st.html

It's all good... I am awaiting the last part needed for the welding to start...2 T25 flanges. They should be in this Wednesday, tomorrow. After that, my baby goes directly to the fabricator/welder. Then, I finish the project. 30 days, the turbo should be done...

From Deron: finally, some hard numbers!!!!
keep up the great progress!!!!!!!....cmon Ryan, where are you?????

since it hasn't been answered I'd like to ask again.

was this RWHP or FWHP?

it could have measured RWHP and extrapolated % parasitic loss and corrected to display FlywheelHP.

I just wanted to know for sure.

You should change the verbage. Usually RWHP is rear and FWHP is front....I speculate that you mean flywheel correct ?
