Are you sure you have removed the protective plastic? I also have scratches even bigger ones, but they are on the plastic.

oh my God, I was going to say that I absolutely remove the plastic that I absolutely remember removing the plastic, but believe it or not I didn’t and that’s exactly what it is how about that. Didn’t make sense to me that it could scratch so easily, thanks for saying this or I would’ve not known and that’s why I post these things.

And I don’t know if I want to keep the plastic on or not I wonder how many people do that. Reminds me of buying a new high end wrist watch have to remember to take the plastic off the crystal

I have not used one on my iPhones for several years now and have never scratched one.

On a side note...Not all microfiber cloths are good on plastic surfaces. Some should only be used on wheels.

Glad you didn't mess up the screen....Have a great weekend!

Well how would you know which is which, I guess I’d have to look at packaging to see if it says don’t use on plastic or glass.

Glad you didn't get the screen scratched! Dumb question of mine but if you didn't realize it was there to being with, is this protector just pretty much clear/transparent and not matte? Just curious because I guess my dealer took mine off and I originally looked really hard for it. Since I heard about this last year, eventually got one of those glass screen protectors prior to delivery and have been pretty happy with it so far.

It's glass, not a a flexible plastic film. As such, it has some thickness to it. It's perfectly clear and does not interfere with the clarity or touch sensitivity.
That being said, if you're looking for it you'll see the edges.

LOL. I did the same thing. First I noticed what looked like a bad deformed screen at upper right corner. I was thinking at 5k oil change, I would have them look at it. A few weeks later, I notieed some find scratches. Initially, I was feeling foolish for not putting on a glass screen protector. But I then realized it was the plastic factory protection. Whew!! I bought a glass protector, but so far have just left the film intact.

Just be careful with how long you leave the factory film on. This stuff is designed to protect the screen during delivery only. Working in IT, I've seen some people leave this film on equipment and it eventually gets baked on from heat and just ruin the surface it was meant to protect. Probably safe during winter, but definitely get it off before the summer heat returns.

does this screen come with lens wipe, cleaning microfiber cloth and a sticky pad to prep the screen? Does your product say how think it is?

It came with some cleaning pads and wipes. However, any good screen cleaner and scotch tape will do the same thing.
What I really appreciated are the suction cups that you stick to the protector during the install. They really helped to hold and align the huge chunk of thin glass ,as opposed to holding it by the edges.
As for thickness, it's be about the same or just slightly thicker as any glass screen protector. The edges a beveled, so no worries about cutting yourself.
