NX Base Sound system様ikes/dislikes
I知 interested in hearing from owners what your impressions are of the stock sound system. Are you pleased? Not? What adjustments did you make to extract the best performance? Realizing this is Uber subjective stuff. Thanks.
Here is a pretty intereting thread about @nx450plus upgrading his speakers in his 450+h ( all 45oh+ NXs come with standard audio) : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...errerid=161523
There are other threads earlier about standard NX audio:

Hope this helps

but like the mids/highs are pretty muddy for vocals or classical music and bass isn't that good for edm
It's not just the "Base" sound system... it's the "10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System".
It's adequate for the vast majority of the population. I expected better from a "Premium" system. I like the JBL on my Toyota better.

It is very unfortunate that Lexus chose not to allow the ML audio to be installed as an option/accessory/package in 450h+ s

I guess sound is relative. The ML in my LX570 is so so compared to my B&O in my 7 series. The ML in my ages ago LS400 was really good for its day. Perhaps sound in cars is better than in SUV. In any case, I'm sure there are other sound system that will blow away systems I've mentioned like Burmester 3D or 4D. For the 2nd gen NX, I haven't seen many ML system installed. Get rid of the run flats, and any sound system will be much better.

I am also somewhat partial tp Marantz ( you probably prefer McIntosh), Definitive Technology and SVS fed through fiber optic cables.I
Getting back to apples and apples, for the price point of the Lexus NX, the Mark Levinson audio is excellent IMHO.
Motor On and let the music play

Yes, the Nakamichi sound system in the LS400 was excellent. Sounds like you have had some very nice cars, CONGRATs.. And now even Ford offers a B&O audio. Your Burmester was probably in a Mercedes Bentz; a car brand that has never really tripped my trigger. I had Harmon Cardon in my M3, which was great but the rest of my M3 was so finicky it was always in the shop. And since we are not comparing apples to oranges at all my very ,very best audio was Invidia with the top down
