First, for the record, the wireless charger on my NX350 Turbo Luxury worked just fine with my iPhone 12 Pro. I know that others had many problems, but mine connected, stayed connected and charged the phone.
I figured that I might have poorer results with the just-issued iPhone 14 Pro, and I was right. No joy, no matter what I try, regardless of the direction or angle of the phone. It might charge for a few moments if I manage to find the hot spot, but it never maintains a connection.
Naked, the iPhone 14 Pro slips and slides all over the tray. It might charge for a few seconds, but that's it. With any cover on the back, regardless of how thin it might be or the brand (including an Apple silicone MagSafe back cover), the same bad result. A few seconds of charging, then...nada.
One reason for the divergent results between the 12 Pro and the 14 Pro likely is the MUCH larger camera bump on the 14 Pro.
Whatever the reason, one cannot reliably charge the iPhone 14 Pro with the vehicle's embedded wireless charger. If, as distribution of the 14 Pro expands, anyone has better results, please share them here.
If not, maybe Lexus will some day send down an OTA update for that wireless charging software (though I imagine that it's really a hardware problem in that charging tray).

I don’t have the 14 yet, I use a USB-C fast charger plugged into the dash instead as I am so used to fast chargers I don’t ever use the slow ones anymore. But it’s a bummer to hear that this problem exists.
The issue with the newer phones not charging on the Lexus wireless charger lies with the camera bumps. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and I've completely given up on using the wireless charger. It worked somewhat reliably without the case on but it slides around and loses the connection. People with Samsung phones and pixels with large camera bumps have had the same experience. I've just given up and plugged into the USB-c port instead

Outside of the wireless charging issue, is everything okay with the CarPlay connection? I’d read in other forums that ios16 has some compatibility issues with the CarPlay interface. I’m still waiting for my NX, but I just purchased a 14 pro max and was just wondering.

Wireless CarPlay on iOS 16.01 and 14 Pro is working just fine on my 350 turbo.

I kinda wish I could just turn off the wireless charger. It must be bad for the battery for the charging to keep disconnecting and re-connecting. It just makes that tray unusable for me since I am not “supposed” to put wallet, keys, coins there while the charging pad is active.

Agreed. I keep looking for a way to just shut it down. I’m trying a different phone cover today, but I don’t expect it to resolve the issue. I’ll probably end up just turning the phone upside down and stowing it on the “charging” pad.

I tried different cases. With a camera bump there’s just no way for it to remain steady and in place, unless you something like what I did: affix a MagSafe charger with 3M tape to the charging pad.
I've generally thought these kinds of features were a little unrealistic in a vehicle.
I'll happily use them when they are there and work.
Does anyone know if the iPhone 15, 16 ... 20 will support Qi charging? What shape they will be? Nobody knows.
Something like these built in Qi chargers feel like something with a short life expectancy relative to the life of the vehicle overall.
Would be interesting if the charging pad was somehow swappable through an accessory port so it could be upgraded/optimized over time. I like where people have put down their own charging pucks for this reason.
In this case it's less than a year into it's life and already out of date.
We will probably have our current phones for several more years so it will work for us for quite a while.
