First I turned off the collision mitigation system and warning system and now that I know how to put the car into neutral ha ha

anyway water under the door when you open the door the bottom of all of the doors has water and on the sill I don’t remember having that problem with other cars but maybe.

I KNOW THE FEELING. I hope this helps... The shifter is electronic and has a slight delay. It is not a cable and when I select DRIVE it doesn't go into DRIVE (or REVERSE or NEUTRAL) for 1.5 or so seconds. If I remember that then I can shift all day long without any issues. This is not a cable shifter with gears which I can feel right away, it is more of a computer input and many things need to be checked before the system does as it is programmed.

That makes sense, what happened the first time was I did not know how to put it in neutral I had never asked or looked it up and the first time I had to was when I was in the car wash and for a few seconds there it was a problem.

Do we need to turn off the collision mitigation system? Isn't the car stationary during the car wash?

I could never remember if the car wash was like a conveyor belt where your wheels don’t turn or not, but it is not so your wheels are turning so first before you get to the car wash you go into settings and turn off collision mitigation systems, there’s two that I turn off I don’t have them in front of me right now, and then when you get to the point where the wash will begin you put the car in neutral leave the car running.

The beeping and lights will still go off as if you’re about to hit the different things around you but the car won’t stop by itself if you turn off those systems.

I think they're referring to car washes where the car is dragged along a track... they're much more rare in Ontario/Canada ... we just drive in, stop and the washing mechanism goes around the car..i think these are more rare in US

No need to turn anything off once in neutral with the exception of the auto rain wipers. Going through a car wash causes all sorts of lights and bells to go off, as each sensor gets blocked and the car is trying to figure out what’s going on. Once through the brushes and the car is being dried everything settles down.

Unless the system applies the brakes which it could do.

I have had it apply the brakes when I am getting too close to something.

It wont do this in neutral. No need to turn anything off. I have had a 2018,2019,2020, 2021, and now a 2022 and none of them had any problems going through a car was in neutral.
