I downloaded the Carista OBD app and activated license for a month to see what customization options it had. I did notice it had an option to set the TMPS codes per wheel, so one could save a trip to the dealer and money.

BTW, I had it scan the ECUs codes, there are 40 ECUS. No wonder a chip shortage. The other customizations were more in the seat belt reminder dings, # turn signal ticks and parking sensor distance setting. It was pretty limited, so TMPS was the most useful, if needed.

THanks for confirming. According to the people at Fastco I was just ahead of the curve and the codes weren't ready yet back in April.

Dont know about that as the tpms/wheels I used were just from my 2019 RX . I just did a straight swap, so there shouldn't be any difference if I was able to register set from a 2019 Lexus

Default Winter tires

Yesterday my dealer installed winter tires and mags.
There is no notification on the dashboard but i cant see the different tire pressure on every tire on the screen. Is that normal ?

Is the system also smart enough to figure out which sensor is which corner?

yes...that's why it requires driving for a while for it to register as it figures out which sensor id is for which wheel

Today I learned my local Toyota dealership can't guarantee any OEM air pressure sensors they sell will work for my Lexus NX because they have no ability to cross-reference Lexus parts. I could have them order some in (for $20+ more each than what my Lexus dealer quoted) but I can't return them if they don't work. My dealer is a 1200 km round trip away, hence why I'm at the Toyota dealer...

Heck they can't even sell me center caps for the the set of winter wheels I bought which have a Toyota genuine part label on them (still a Lexus part they tell me). Whatever, who needs center caps?

I'm just going to let Costco install the winter tires I bought from them with whatever third part sensors they normally supply. If the codes won't register presumably Costco will just have to refund me and reinstall without sensors at all. Too bad you can't phone Costco tire centers this time of year - no one will ever answer that phone and mine is certainly one of the least busy in Canada.

Costco has aftermarket sensors but can also get the OEM that comes in a Dill box for under $65 each

My OEM TPMS sensors lost the connectivity to the car after a 15-20min highway drive at 110-120km/hr. those were installed by Costco with my winter set last Monday and had been good for the whole week till today. Tried to re-register them as new tire to no avail. however, i saw another option down there for tire rotation so I tried that and luckily after few hours mix of local and highway drive the car finally recognized the TPMS sensor.s such a relief!!!

I followed the steps in the owners manual and everything. My car stays on the verifying your tire pressure step no matter what I do. I have a few questions.

-Has anyone been able to register aftermarket sensors?
-Should I just put my OEM sensors in the aftermarket tires?
-Will Lexus be able to register them and if so will the charge me?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I did install the winter tires packages with non-Lexus TMPS yesterday, and it took 10 minutes to register the sensors .
