Do you have to have a smartphone to get rid of guest?...then dismiss

Just trying to program key to know who I am. Then I need password/code.....Followed by lots of expletives (me)

Don't get me going about no smartphone, please.

Thanks,

When I picked up my new NX, they were not going to let me leave with the car until I paired it with my smartphone. It paired fine with my wife's iPhone, but not with my not so smart android phone. I told them I would worry about it when I got home, but they told me it was a safety issue, and I could not leave until it was also paired to my phone. I had to delete some photos and other apps, and then was able to download the Lexus app, pair the phone, and go home.

Chuuck1e Thank you for the info. Appreciate it.

I don't have a smartphone. I am just trying to find some info on how to get rid of the guest/dismiss every time I get in the NX.
You can't even program the key to recognize you without the Lexus app..it wants your code??
Back to the dealer on Monday.
I don't expect too many responses as 99% of folks have smartphones...Thought I would try!

OK so my dealer is going to setup the NX using my Wife's smartphone. They did the best they could without a smartphone. There is no need to travel with one or use one to realize all the great features. However, you do need one to set the car up with the full compliment of goodies
I really appreciate the effort the dealer has gone to help me getting the vehicle set up for a non smartphone user! No wonder it's my fifth vehicle from them. FYI to other "flip" phone users...

On the subject of smartphones, I have had android phones since day one, but am now considering going to the dark side by purchasing an iPhone.

Have any of you 2022 NX owners been able to discern if either is better than the other when it comes to your car's recognition of your profile/phone or use of the available apps?

Got one of each. Both work - intermittently. I personally feel that the problems with the profile recognition is more to do with multiple profiles and keys not being recognized by the vehicle.

I have noticed that it pairs up to my profile a lot better if I have the iPhone in the wireless charger

The system appears to sway more toward IPHONE although my profile loads just fine as a secondary user with Android - I have a Note 10. The BIG problem I have is I do not have the "primary" users access. I'm looking to have the same access as my wife (primary) as it provides all the app features. Secondary user shows nothing in the app. If anyone knows this work-around I would appreciate it!
