Need new key, HELP
Ok so I need a second key for my 2000 LX470, as i only have one with the transponder/transmitter. The other part of the second key that I have is just the key blade, i must have broken the shell at some time and I lost the transponder/transmitter part. So I need another one. I still have the second key blade that is already cut.
I cant seem to find anywhere to purchase one of these, or its right in front of my face and i can just get anyone of them. I know with my 2014 Focus ST you need to get a keyfob that has the same FCC # otherwise it wont work. But the Focus doesnt have a actual key either, its push button start. I dont see any of that here.
Could some one point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance

The FCC number is immaterial...see your dealer. He'll need your VIN or the key codes that should have been saved and given to the original owner when the truck was delivered. Some dealers want to look at your registration and id to make sure you are the owner.
My second key lacks the transponder, so I use the key to unlock the truck.

I had a simialr issue when I purchased my 2005LX470 two years ago-only one transponder key. As long as you have one, you're in OK shape. Lexus can cut and program a replacement key. Call around though as prices vary by dealer. The cost is the key (per key) and programming (same for one or multiple keys). I ended purchasing two transponder keys to offset the programming cost. Don't loose your only key as the cost at that point is extremely expensive.

If you have the transponder (or you purchase from the dealer) I found a "flip key" on eBay with a 46 or 48mm blade (can't remember now) which can be cut by a decent key shop or locksmith, and the transponder will fit into the flip key case and is close enough to the key cylinder to operate and start the car.
Mine works like a champ, I had two done for $30 total cost (I had both transponders to start).
