Default Spark plug replacement schedule.

During my recent visit to the dealer. I was told by the service advisor that since my 2023 nx 350 has passed 40,000 miles, I have to get my spark plugs replaced.
any thoughts?

General Guidelines for Spark Plug Replacement

Generally, for modern Lexus models equipped with iridium or titanium spark plugs, replacement is recommended every 100,000 miles. However, this can vary based on driving conditions, the specific model, and other factors. It's always prudent to consult the owner's manual or seek advice from a certified Lexus technician for model-specific guidelines.

According the Lexus.com maintenance schedule. NX350 - Replace Spark Plugs. I remember that the Turbo engines require the replacement of the spark plugs every 40k miles/64k km (in Canada).
This would be one of the most expensive maintenance items before 100k miles/160k miles maintenance. If the first gen NX200t/300 had the same maintenance schedule.

Most auto manufacturers of turbo engines require/recommend replacing the spare plugs around 40-50k miles.
I assume that the hp increase and engine pressure, results of turbo charging, cause faster spark plug wear.
I don’t see we why spark plug replacement should be very expensive. I changed them on my previous turbo’d suv at the recommended 45k miles. Access to the plugs was easy on top of the engine.
I hope it will be just as easy for me to change on my NX350 when I hit 40k miles.

I plan to change them myself as well when they come due for me in 2027. Doesn't look particularly hard on these engines. Especially compared with a Subaru engine that requires removing a lot of parts on both sides of the engine plus a swivel spark plug socket on another swivel on an extension on a ratchet. The NX should be a dream to do in comparison.

Looks like officially they're around $30 but I found some for $13 each on sale. https://parts.belllexusnorthscottsda...redAccessories

Always watch out for knock offs these are one of the most common items that are found to be copy catted their small, can be really cheaply made and very hard to know if they're the real deal or not.
Don't put any anti seize on threads either, not a good idea.

Remove the engine cover? Forget it, I'm out

Takes longer to do an oil change. I wonder how many hours a dealer charges.
