Default Run Flat ties?€

I just bought a new NX350. Only had it a few days but pleased and enjoying it. I am wondering about your experiences with the stock run flat tires. My inclination is to run them for a few years and then replace with a good conventional tire. We will not put a ton of miles on the vehicle so it could take several years to get enough miles on them before replacing. So far the ride does not seem overly harsh but it is 90+ this week.

Thanks for your input.

Do a forum search, many, many posts about those tires. Mine will need replacing next spring and those won't be run flats.

2023 NX 350h Bridgestone run flats. Ride was fine tread went at 15,000 miles. Replace with Michelin Primacy that came on my 2024 RX 350h. Much quieter and smoother.

Good Plan.

YMMV,

I'm waiting for Michelin for CC3 to come in our area. The OEM Bridgestone tires appears still good for some miles.

I am doing the same and hope to get them on sale at Costco next spring.

I concur. If the CC3 is not out when I need to replace mine, I will opt for the CC2. I had the CC2's on my wife's 17 Acura RDX and they are an excellent tire. We gave that car to my DIL, and I've checked them over since that time and they still are looking great. The Bridgestone run flats.....not so much. They wear quickly and are noisy, sounding something like snow tires on bare pavement, well maybe not that bad but, still a harsh riding tire.

I have Run-Flats on my NX and find nothing wrong. When the time comes, I plan to replace them with Run-Flats. With the size of the trunk, I don't think I can fit a spare kick, plus other items, in it.

Sadly, the CC3 is not coming to North America anytime soon. This is what Michelin Customer Service wrote to me a few days ago:

We regret to inform you that at present, there are no scheduled release dates for the CrossClimate3 within the North American market.
I guess I'll be buying CC2 for wife's NX this Fall. The stock Bridgestones are terrible in snow/ice. I have the CC2 on my Subaru and while they're not as good as dedicated winter tires, they are decent in snow.

I saw somewhere on the forum somebody from Europe having the CC3s and LOVING them / very pleased with them.

Google used to say CC3s were being released July 1st in US — but since that date has passed and you let us know what Michelin Customer Service wrote,

I’m hopeful it will be some time this year, before you’ll need them for your wife’s NX in the fall. If not, they should be out before I’ll need new tires next Spring 2026.

From what I understand, Michelin was forced to release CC3 in Europe due to more fierce competition there. Over here, in North America, Michelin won't bother bringing the CC3 until there is a worthy competitor.

Hmmmph… welp, that’s not good news. I don’t want to have to settle for CC2s because they keep dragging their heels…

I still have a little time before next spring. But I was hoping they’d get released sooner, go thru them running out because of demand, and then hopefully catch up by the time I need them. Doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen and I’ll be scrambling to get them along with everyone else

In the last CC3 thread a couple of months ago, I did post that Goodyear has come out with a very nice competitor. Now, I have no experience with it, and Goodyear's typically get far less miles of wear, but it is siped even more than the Michelins for rain and snow use. Should be interesting.

I won't be due for a couple years.
