I’m wondering if any of you have installed the iOS 26 beta on your iPhone, and if so, does the digital key still work?

i’m asking because CarPlay OS 26 looks fantastic! Especially the navigation and the way the phone app does not take over the whole screen.

I installed it and it works. I did not see the new updated navigation, but I’ll keep an eye out for that and post an update

 

Don't expect much feedback here. That beta is only available to developers -- the public beta won't be available until July, and the release version in September.

 

that’s a great point! I didn’t even think of that.

 

Developer beta is free now. Used to have to pay $100. Anyone can get it. That said, don’t install the dev beta on your primary devices. 😂

 

I had to and am thrilled that my digital key still works!

i’ve been using it since yesterday and I have to say that it’s the most stable beta that I’ve used in a long time.


I really like the feature where if you’re in NAV and you get a phone call it doesn’t switch screens. Just shows up as a little widget on the bottom of the display.
