For the first time in 15 years I will not be updating my Lexus with another Lexus.
My 2015 NX200t has had its long list of problems but the dealer has always looked after me.
Had the new NX for 2 weeks while a 2nd rear oil seal was being installed in the 2015.
The interior is such a step down from my NX. The dash marks so easily and is a slab of black soft plastic. Piano black, really. And the electronic doors answer a question no one is asking. Not even a digital dash like the Rav4.
The new 2.5 hybrid.is an absolute gem, however. One of the best, torquiest and smoothest engines out there. Would have bought it just fir the engine but not enough to sway the family or the missus.
Hello BMW X1.
Have you had a BMW before ? Once four year warranty is up BMW is very expensive to maintain. But it is a very sporty and fun ride. Good Luck.

Be afraid, be very afraid, LOL.
I don't have a lot of experience with BMW but a friend of mine was given a 6 or 7 yr old 3 series car from this mother that was relatively low miles and "appeared" in great shape. Cost $8500CAD to get it back working properly. My Dad was interested in a Mercedes at one point (not an upscale super fancy one, just a basic low end model) and I went with him to the dealer. I enquired about the cost of maintenance, and they nearly had to bring out the defibrillator for both of us. This was 6 or 7 yrs ago and their annual service price was more than double what the Lexus dealer charges me today for the annual maintenance price. I guess they fly Hans out from Germany personally to service each car wearing white gloves and a tux. He didn't buy it. It seems German cars are great for car lovers, but you gotta love the cars a LOT more than you love your money.

Styling with anything is always subjective. Some people may really like the piano black. I'm not a big fan so I added this 2 piece trim set that goes around the shifter on the center console and goes up around the Drive Mode ****. It's finished in a matte black wood grain that fits perfect, looks good and looks original. I also added the Alcantara suede cover for the leather shift **** that fits snug and tight and feels good in your hand.
I see from your signature file you have a "Luxury" NX350h which had black wood on the door trim.
Can you tell us how closely this matches the wood on the door trim?

Interesting that Tesla is listed with luxury cars.
My brother has a model X and s model Y. Both really high Tech, really advance vehicles, but neither feels like a luxury car. This is my personal opinion though.

I agree 💯 %. High tech doesn't make a luxury vehicle. Subjective but extremely boring plain exterior and even worse interior. J D Power rates them with the second worst initial quality. Not my definition of luxury.

The service costs for my previous BMWs have always been cheaper than my NX. The BMW service schedule also meant that services came along every 18 months rather than every year.
I can't answer that question because the moderators wouldn't like it. You, just asking that question reveals a lot about yourself-"Clueless"
Well, that was certainly an incredibly needless and rude remark to a simple 3 word question but this is a public forum and that's what anonymous people do sometimes. You went out of your way to make the statement you don't patronize Chinese vendors directly and I and maybe others might be curious as to why? Do you not buy anything made in China? Good luck with that. You searched for the item on eBay. If found would you have bought it bc one way or the other it's coming from China. What's the difference between buying a Chinese made item from eBay or buying the same item from AliExpress, other than AliExpress is gonna be cheaper, bc your money is still going over to China. Who really cares anyway? I suspect those of us here who have bought from AliExpress did so bc it's cheaper than buying from somewhere else and at the end of the day cheap prices are where people are gonna shop. Where else can you literally buy something for $1 and have it shipped to your front door from the other side of the world while you sit home and watch TV? Should we all boycott AliExpress? What would you possibly say that you think the mods would have to delete lol?

A bit off topic, but coincidentally I saw an article that Tesla has the highest rate of fatalities per mile driven in the US that any other brand according to a study. But they went on to explain that the cars themselves are one of the highest rated for safety, they conclude that apparently Tesla drivers seem inherently unsafe, crashing at a significantly higher rate than the typical driver even with all the high tech safety features. We just saw an example of this locally in Toronto a few days ago, a bunch of people were apparently speeding their Tesla on a downtown street and lost control crashing into a concrete pillar and turning their car into a Lithium Ion BBQ. Seems they didn't know how to work the manual release on their electric doors and could not get out as the battery ignited. I really do have to get around to making up some laminated door pocket cards showing how to use the manual releases for my NX. I'm a bit surprised Lexus doesn't provide something like that already...

You are correct. The RX and ES have always rated extremely low in deaths.

Lexus does have stickers for the latches because when I got a loaner 2nd Gen NX a couple of years ago, there were stickers on the latches. The dealers will remove them on Delivery because when I got mine, they took them off. Although they did leave the plastic protective barrier on the infotainment and tailgate skid plates which I am glad they did especially on the infotainment so that I could keep it protected until I could install a glass shield for my screen..
On another note, I picked up a friend from the airport and he really liked how quiet and smooth the ride was in my NX450h+ compared to his new Rav4 Hybrid. I am happy with my NX450+ It replaced my 2nd Gen RX330 which was a great car.
