I have a '22 NX350h Canadian made, I live in Ontario, my gas flap alignment is horrendous and I have complained to my dealership several times over the last few years to see if they have a fix, so far no. I often see plenty of them on the lot suffering from the same concern. The Service Manager has stated in the past that the new design plastic hinge mechanism is to blame as it is affected by outside temps and grows and shrinks in length. It also is indirectly causing some of the difficulties as both I and others have suffered from with the flap not wanting to open up. I've had mine repaired for the flap not opening up and it seems to be functioning fine these last few months since the work was done in the early spring of '24.
This is a Lexus, I would hope the panel gaps would be child's play for them to master at this point in time! I mean Hyundai and Kia's panel alignments are fabulous these days. Why can't a luxury brand take this seriously and resolve it? I'm a dog with a bone on this issue and can't ignore it as it's on the driver's side and I look at it every time I get into my car.
I'm curious has anyone had the ALIGNMENT of the FLAP GAP corrected with any success?
As I never see any 450+ on my dealer lot and I know these are Japan built, do the gas flaps on 450+ built in Japan look this pitiful too? Just curious, maybe a Japanese built component might make it fit better (LOL) just thinking out loud.

I've had my fuel flap fixed by Lexus as it wouldn't open when iced up but I don't recall having any alignment issues before or after the fix. I can safely say that both this and the electric charging flap feel very flimsy.
Canadian NX350h here. Original fuel door didn't sit flush with the body (but was centered) and I had the dealer replace it. New one is flush but offset and they say that's how they are. I'd rather have my original one back.
Canadian 2022 NX here. The remote switch stopped working, brought it in for replacement and now there's a dimple in the bodywork forward of the fuel door. Service manager said they'd fix it and realign the door since it sticks out now.
