Hello! Has anyone returned their lease with a windshield crack? How much did Lexus charge? I have a rock chip crack about an inch in length. In the lease return guidelines it says chips and cracks are considered excessive wear. Thanks!

 

Your insurance company will most likely cover this with no penalties. It could call for a replacement… at $1800 or more
Maybe have Satellite replace it. Not factory but cheaper

 

Never experienced that issue on a rental but the dealer may charge for it if it's a very big crack.

I gave a vehicle curb rash before and wasn't charged.

 

I have a big crack on my own Lexus NX that keeps growing bigger and bigger every day, all the windshields are on national backorder, there are literally over 100 people waiting for one and it will take 6-8 month to get a replacement -.- all the parts will cost me $1600 + installation $200 + calibration $500 = total $2300 I feel like those windows are not what they used to be, I have 15 year old not Lexus that has been through the hail, and all the windows are fine, the car is totaled, all the neighbors with newer cars have all their windows either busted or cracked, but mine is just fine. I don't even know what happened on my Lexus windshield, I guess I found a small sone somewhere and it is already got busted, and I do not think it will be the last one

 

I gave up waiting... is a windshield from a wreck acceptable? My body shop would not do that on my request.

 

I haven't seem an installer successfully remove a windshield from a vehicle perfectly.

 

The glass came in. Had no ETA.. I get a surprise call the windshield is in for the 2024 we just traded. Anyway I made a decision to purchase the glass and have it if we need it for the 2025… If it does not get used it’ll get sold at trade in time.
