Wired Android Auto
I finally decided to disable wireless Android auto on my 2024 Lexus NX350h since it is often shuts down in the middle of the ride and it is no way to bring it up (besides restarting the car). I hoped that I can simply connect USB cable to the port and Android Auto will start...
It did not! Search on Google did not yield any results. Did anyone try to connect Android Auto/Apple CarPlay thru the wire?
TIA

My wireless AA is very stable. Was less so until the recent s/w update and an update to my Samsung phone. Maybe check you have all the updates available.
However, it's very easy to reconnect; just press the volume button on the large screen, hold it for a few seconds and the infotainment restarts. AA restarts and your phone will reconnect by itself.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have all the latest updates :-)
I was recommended to re-install Android Auto and reboot Infotainment system, since wired option would work. Unfortunately, Lexus software is buggy, at least, in my experience. Surprising, since it is made in Japan, and they test everything to death...

The most important thing for sorting out Android app issues is to clear the app's data and cache. Reinstalling the app itself might help if the app's code somehow got corrupted, but its far more likely that the app's data or cache gets corrupted and this info isn't necessarily cleared during an app reinstall. I've never actually tried the cable connection because wireless AA has always worked pretty well for me. Only issue I have is that on rare occasion (maybe once every 2 or 3 months) AA won't connect and retrying doesn't help. I usually wait a few minutes, then I go into settings on the Infotainment screen, find that AA has been turned off, I just turn it on and it reconnects very quickly. Every time I have the connect issue, every time this works to connect it back up with little fuss, no resetting the infotainment system. I've only ever had to reset the infotainment system once in 12 months of ownership, as part of the screen went blank.
So, after about 2 months after I completely re-installed Android Auto, it continues to shut down by itself periodically, but infotainment system reset usually puts it back on. Still not happy about it, but stopped complaining :-)
Agree with Droid 13 clear your cache and data. Our phones get connected with so many Bluetooth systems that can slow connections down or keep from connecting at all. Worked with one of our phones. Newer phone have had zero problems. Once every 40 connections have a problem connecting and always resolved by holding down the volume button for ten seconds doing a reboot.

You'll be surprised how a reboot can fix so many problems. Android OS has improved a lot over the years, but there are still times where a reboot will fix a problem. Everyday might be a bit too much.
I think it even smells better too
