Default Modern Spare Question

Hoping I never need to use the spare, but I'm wondering what PSI people keep in the Modern Spare? The same as the regular tires or is there something different about how the spare needs inflation? Thanks in advance.

Here you go @romer , I'll look it up for yah

Kumho (131) Original Equipment T155/90R18 113M

The Kumho (131) Original Equipment T155/90R18 113M is a compact spare tire that should be inflated to 60 psi and not driven faster than 50 mph. It has a continuous center rib that provides controllability and maneuvering.

YMMV,

Thanks MidCow3--much appreciated. I asked Modern Spare a while back but got a non-specific answer. Again--hoping it remains in brand new condition forever!

The real question is do you have a regular tire as a spare, or a real compact spare tire, if it is real spare it would says right on the tire to inflate to 60 psi or whatever, but if you keep a regular tire as a spare do not think I would keep it at 60 psi

Often tires will show the maximum PSI. The actual PSI is determined by the car it's on. I have the Modern Spare and it says 60 PSI which I wasn't sure about. As I said--I contacted them but the response was not definitive for some reason. MidCow3 confirmed the 60 PSI answer so there you have it. Just don't want to have to use it--fingers crossed.

Asked and answered, Modern Spare is a compact spare. Obviously not full size if you look at the tire specifications that were provided.

Peace YMMV,

For temporary spare tires always read the sidewall to make sure what maximum pressure it will take and never go any higher. As they always will typically be higher pressure than a regular full size spare it's always a good idea to check this pressure at least once a year as they tend to slowly loose pressure over time and there's no TPMS in them to tell you they're low. And like old Murphy will tell you: when you need it most is when it'll let you down (ok that's a little different than what Murphy says ' .
