14 inch screen dead
Update: Lexus is replacing the 14" screen. The tech said he expected an ETA on the unit "in a couple of days." When I asked what the typical ETA is to receive it he said, "from a few days to a few weeks." It ships direct from the OEM of the panel, not from Lexus, so I'm guessing it's coming from Asia somewhere. 😟
Update: My dealer did in fact replace the 14-in screen. When I first got in the car I loaded Android Auto and it worked so I just left. Once I got home I discovered that I didn't have access to the Lexus GPS. It was asking me to log in. It also seemed to have lost all the registration information put in at the time of purchase.Based on some research I did, it seemed a VIN SYNC procedure to sync the cars VIN to the radio was missed, so yesterday, back to Lexus I went. Side note on wireless charging: while I was there, I mentioned that my wireless charging has never worked consistently and I asked if there was service bulletin for a replacement part. I have a 23. The answer was no.
The master technician did a software update and did the VIN sync. Then I got called into the bay. I had never been back there where all the action happens so that was pretty cool. Anyway, the GPS map was not coming up on the screen and the master tech was befuddled. We agreed that I would keep an eye on it. Maybe it was still downloading after the software update...
When I got outside to my car and started it up, I looked at the screen to see if by chance the GPS map would appear. It did not, but I did notice a Qi icon that I had not noticed before in the top right of the screen. I had been testing the wireless charging on the way to the dealership just to see if I could get it to work consistently and I could not. Incredibly, on the ride home from the dealership and after the software update the Qi charging was working! I mean working for the whole ride. Not me having to reposition the phone to get it back working every 2 minutes. It just worked. So if any of you are having that issue it may be a software update that has to be done at the dealership.
As of last evening the GPS map was still not showing so they may have to come get the car and figure that out. But the good news is my wireless charging seems to be working. Baby steps.
