Default 14 inch screen composition

Is the 14 inch screen made of glass with a screen protector on top of it?

The smaller screen seems to be rather easily scratched plastic. I assume they are the same. You can get screen protectors from Amazon

The 14" screen is glass. It's bright, crisp, and very responsive.
It comes with a protective film attached, not a permanent screen protector.
I've had
this glass protector this glass protector
on mine since day one, and I am happy with it.

Fingerprints are a bigger deal than scratching. I keep a small microfiber cloth to wipe the screen (and to dust in general) when it gets bothersome.

My first screen protector didn’t go well, but may try another eventually.

Today is my one year anniversary of taking delivery of my NX350 with the 14" screen. I removed the protective plastic film before leaving the dealership parking lot, and have had bare glass ever since. 12,000 miles later, not a single scratch on it. I don't think a protector is a necessary thing, but YMMV.

Agree with Dorsai - we left the "from the factory" protective plastic cover on for a bit but it was easily scratched/looked gross so we took it off. And... 12,000 miles later it remains flawless. Unlike a mobile phone, the screen in the car just doesn't have nearly as many opportunities to get scratched... So unless yer really hard on things (or drive people around who are!) I definitely don't think it's necessary. (This coming from a person who ALWAYS has a screen protector on their phone FWIW)

I agree with other comments. I took off the plastic film pretty much right away. I have a super huge eyeglass cleaning cloth I got from my optometrist, perfect for cleaning the screen and the piano black parts and keep it conveniently stored under the phone charger and I think that will be fine for me. My MIL is required to wear oven mitts in the car to keep her daggers off the interior. Whoops, I was only dreaming about that last part but she won't touch the screen anyway.

Maybe the smaller screen is different because ours seemed to have scratches on it after we wiped the finger prints off it with a microfiber cloth. We leave our screen off 99% of the time and it really shows up stuff then.

Have you removed the plastic film yet from the screen. Took me three months before I realized it was the plastic film that was scratched. The original 9.8 screen underneath was and still remains perfect after a year.
