Default Cruise control

Worst button system I have ever had/used. For now it’s my biggest nit pick. I’ll get used to it eventually but I do not like it. Am I alone?

You're not alone; the cruise button sequence sucks and is not intuitive. For reference, I specifically never use adaptive. If I come upon someone slower, I'll pull out to pass. No sense slinkying with the rest of the zombies at less speed than I want to travel; I got things to do, places to go, people to meet, yada, yada, yada.

The button set up is something I'd expect from a used Yugo. Shame on the designers.. maybe they're short a few Chips.

I would have liked the HUD, but I'm glad I have the standard buttons. I find they all work fine and make sense to me and I like buttons that have a defined (and labeled) purpose. I think I would have preferred the old Toyota Cruise stalk that had been around for decades, and just add the additional adaptive functions as steering wheel buttons only, but c'est la vie. The only thing I miss (compared with my Subaru) is that on the NX I have to cycle thru all the adaptive distance settings in one direction only, no separate up and down.

I don't mind he cruise control buttons, it's slightly similar to past vehicles.

Personally I think the panoramic sunroof is more confusing than the cruise control. Almost all my vehicles controlled the shade and sunroof with 1 or two switches. I now have 4 hard to identify buttons.

I realized new things have to be learned ... but this is bad design.

Panoramic sunroof.... I need it for more headroom otherwise I never opened one on any car.... BUT>>I did use it once and left it open all night... As I walked to the car I was expecting birds, squirrels, whatever under the seat🤣

Yes, the panoramic roof controls make the cruise buttons seem like a baby's toy. Even after almost 5 months I still occasionally press the hard plastic bumps in between the buttons.

.
It would be ok if the buttons had pictures on them... Would simpler and done. That's my point. The NX CC section looks like the Xfinity cable remote.

Are you secretly my brother-in-law?

He's fairly wealthy, semi-retired at 40 after selling his company for millions, yet two years ago he bought a brand new car that has actual window cranks instead of switches. And he's quite proud of them. Took my kids for a ride and asked them to open the windows to watch their confusion (even though they are young adults, they'd actually never seen window cranks before). He thinks they're great (my kids asked me if Uncle Bob was "ok"). LOL.

I like the Cruise Control. No weird buttons that set and deaccelerate or resume and acelerate. There is a dedicated button to bring up the controls. You can use it as a soft button to activate the legend on the HUD or a hard button to turn Cruise on immediately. Up and down are pretty easy. It is a little weird that you have two do operations to manually speed up or slow down. One touch to activate the HUD and then additional to change the speed.

My comments are based on using the Cruise control with the HUD with touch controls on the steering wheel. I have no idea what a non HUD car looks like.

I couldn’t agree more. I use it almost every time I drive

I'm in the Figure it Out Mode.... once I learn I'm ok... Our NX is almost ready use the CC... I wanted get some various speed mileage on before using CC. I was trying it on the Turnpike and backed off for the moment. Was not comfortable fiddling while driving.
