Just got a new NX250 AWD last night with the base model and 1660 dealer options. I got 2900 off from MRSP.
The option Wheel Locks comes with a key, but I don't see the original lugs, where are they? I assumed when they put in the set of wheel lock lug and removed the regular lugs out and leave somewhere in the trunk so that the customer can use them later if they don't want to use the wheel locks.
Does anyone know about this or have this option when you're buying your LUXUS.
If the dealer installed the wheel locks, you'd probably be able to get the original wheel studs. If it's on the factory MSRP sticker, as a factory option, then I'd guess the factory didn't include the regular studs, only the lockable ones. Kind of like if you get the Martin Logan system, they don't put the lower grade audio system in the trunk. Not exactly comparable, of course, but kind of helps make the point.
It's a Profit maker by including the Locks (they cost about $15-20 and charge $95. Then by putting the Lock on that is four less Lugs/Studs they have to buy. Makes perfect business sense to me. You didn't get them as @dklanecky1 mentioned above. Sorry!!
Great! I appreciate all the responses.
I'm so frustrating about the tools in the trunk. I'd like to know all the NX owner regarding their cars and what the tools came with your car. Please let me know. My NX has running flat tires and they don't have spare wheel AND car jack. Here what I have in my trunk, only screwdriver, towing eyelet and key lock and many missing slots.
Base on my understanding the NX350 and NX350H comes with RFs. NX250 has standard tires with spare. I am really surprised Lexus changed it. Well you are out of luck, best thing you can do now if to wear those RFs out and replace them with standard tires, buy a spare donut and store them in the truck. Search the forum, it has been discussed before.
